Help us build the main masjid in Kerry.

The community centre is our current prayer space because we do not yet have the funds to build the purpose-built main masjid. Your donation helps make that next phase possible.

“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”

Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim

Project update

The community centre is serving as our masjid. The main masjid still needs to be built.

We have a place to pray today; your donation helps build the purpose-built masjid our community still needs.

Alhamdulillah, since 2025 the completed community-centre building has served as our current Tralee Masjid and madrasah, with daily salah, Jumu’ah, learning and community programmes under one roof.

This next phase grows from a local journey that began with a hospital prayer space in 1988. IQNA's 2023 report, citing Census 2022, records 2,151 people in Kerry whose religion was Islam.

The approved 2015 proposal described a full mosque and separate community centre on a 2.24-acre Killerisk site, with an 18-metre dome, an assembly hall, prayer spaces for men and women, and visitor accommodation. These are historical planning details; the current appeal below states what donations support now.

The purpose-built main masjid and prayer hall shown in the plans have not yet been built because sufficient funds are not available. Your Lillah donation—a voluntary gift made for Allah's sake—primarily helps build that main masjid and its supporting facilities. It can also help repay Qardh Hasanah—the interest-free loans provided by members of the community.

  • The community centre is our current prayer space
  • Daily salah, Jumu’ah and classes continue here
  • The purpose-built main masjid is still unbuilt
  • Donations build the main masjid and support Qardh Hasanah

A seed of lasting reward

The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.

Surah Al-Baqarah · 2:261Translation: The Clear Quran

Charity multiplied

Indeed, those men and women who give in charity and lend to Allah a good loan will have it multiplied for them, and they will have an honourable reward.
